Senior Capstone ‘24
Over the course of 15 weeks, I designed and constructed a variety of deliverables for an imaginary record shop. On top of that, I was also working a marketing internship, and taking two studio classes to fulfill my outstanding credits. This is my story.
Understanding Senior Capstone
-
For our project proposal, we were tasked showing up with a keynote presentation complete with 1) a pitch for your brand 2) academic research backing your reasoning for pitching this brand 3) a long list of deliverables and your plans to design them 4) a timeline.
-
The most important thing about mid-semester review is that you have "touched" everything. Every single deliverable you have proposed, it has to have been considered in some capacity. After this review, your committee members will return to you with a letter grade, and advice for moving forward.
-
The big day. For final review you are assigned a 30 minute slot for your presentation alone with your committee. After your presentation, you will step outside of the room for three minutes while your committee looks over both your physical deliverables and presentation sheets. After those three, long minutes they will say to you simply either We find this work acceptable or We do not find this work acceptable.
-
Between all of those big days, we were also responsible for making at least four one-on-on reviews with each member of our committee.
